The European Environment Agency (EEA) is an agency of the European Union. The EEA task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment. It is the source of information for those involved in developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating environmental policy, and also the general public. The EEA aims to support sustainable development and to help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe’s environment. There are 33 member and 6 cooperating countries.
